Business Controller for Kernel
At Kernel, we are building the technology that will shape the future of healthcare. Kernel is an e-health and technology group that brings together innovative software companies to create more sustainable and dynamic healthcare systems in Norway and beyond.
Within the group, you’ll find Aidn, where we are developing a healthcare platform that makes clinical work, collaboration, and resource management easier and more connected for the municipal health service.
Today’s healthcare systems are fragmented, uncoordinated, and rarely communicate with each other. Healthcare professionals spend far too much time entering the same information into multiple systems, instead of focusing on what matters most: caring for patients.
At Aidn, the goal is to change that. Aidn is building an integrated set of products and services that allow institutions, clinicians, social workers, and citizens to collaborate seamlessly on healthcare matters.

That is where you come in.
We are looking for a Business Controller to join Kernel and act as the link between Kernel’s finance team and Aidn’s management team.
In this role, you will make sure Aidn has solid financial management and the insights needed to make smart strategic decisions. You will deliver financial reporting, analysis, and advice that help them stay on track and move forward as they grow.
What you will do:
- Contribute to further strengthening and improving Aidn’s financial management.
- Act as a trusted business partner to Aidn’s management team, providing financial guidance to support operational and strategic initiatives.
- Lead Aidn’s budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
- Analyze Aidn’s financial performance, monitoring revenues, costs, and profitability to identify trends, deviations, and opportunities for improvement.
- Deliver accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and performance analyses to Aidn's management team and the Kernel group.
- Prepare high-quality presentations and decision-support materials for Aidn's management team.
- Lead the development of an automated and efficient recurring invoicing process to support Aidn’s growth.
- Contribute to sustainability reporting and ensure Aidn’s alignment with relevant regulations.
- Conduct ad-hoc analyses and participate in project work.
Skills & experiences we believe you have:
- Higher education in a relevant field such as economics, finance, or auditing (master’s degree preferred).
- At least five years of relevant experience in controlling, consulting, or auditing.
- Strong technical and systems skills with proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, PowerPoint, and Google Slides.
- Solid understanding of BI tools and data platforms.
- Experience collaborating with senior stakeholders.
- Proven ability to translate complex financial data into clear and actionable insights.
- Resilience and adaptability in a dynamic and fast-paced scale-up environment.
- Experience building strong cross-functional relationships and acting as a trusted business partner.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Norwegian and English.

If you enjoy working closely with the business, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and want your work to make a meaningful difference in healthcare, we would love to hear from you.
You will report directly to the Finance Manager at the Kernel Group and work closely with Aidn's management team, playing a key role in shaping financial strategy and decision-making.

- Competitive compensation, solid pension, and insurance benefits.
