Platform Engineer
Help us create the software platform that will change Norwegian healthcare forever.
Location: Oslo, Bodø, Bergen or Remote anywhere in Norway
Salary: 950k-1.1m NOK/year
🌍 Why this role matters
At Aidn, we're creating the missing healthcare platform all Norwegians deserve—an integrated set of services and applications that allows municipal institutions, healthcare professionals, social workers, and citizens to collaborate on healthcare matters as a single team.
We’re scaling quickly and will soon onboard larger municipalities and thousands more users, transforming our platform into critical infrastructure for Norwegian healthcare. Behind every product team delivering life-changing tools, there’s a small infrastructure team ensuring it's all fast, secure, and reliable.
That’s where you come in.
As a Platform Engineer, you'll help us scale with confidence. Your work will enable developers to move quickly without breaking things, ensure systems recover gracefully under pressure, and help patients receive care without delays caused by downtime or complexity.
This isn’t just about uptime—it’s about impact. And the decisions you help make now will shape how healthcare is delivered for years to come.

🔧 What you’ll be working on
You’ll help evolve and operate the infrastructure that powers Aidn’s mission-critical healthcare platform. Over the coming months, this will include projects such as:
- Migrating infrastructure fully to Azure and retiring legacy systems from OBS.
- Enhancing our developer experience by implementing tools like Backstage, self-hosted GitHub Actions runners, and streamlined environments for testing and demos.
- Improving security and access control by implementing clearer, infrastructure-level access policies and robust secret management.
- Centralizing observability using our LGTM stack (Loki, Grafana, Tempo, Mimir) and Pyroscope for application profiling.
- Scaling our Kubernetes clusters effectively with automated scaling via Karpenter.
- Implementing GitOps workflows with ArgoCD and managing our infrastructure-as-code with Terraform, Crossplane, Jsonnet, and Atlantis (for deploying infrastructure changes).
- Strengthening platform reliability through regular disaster recovery tests, introducing WAF protections, ZScaler private access, and detailed access logging pipelines.
You’ll collaborate closely with product teams to ensure our infrastructure stays secure, resilient, and developer-friendly as Aidn continues to grow.

🛠️ Current Tech Stack
We believe in reducing complexity by choosing modern, reliable tools that are proven in production—favoring simplicity over
novelty, and stability over hype. We're on a journey of continuous improvement, and we make technology decisions that support our business goals, developer experience, and long-term sustainability. These include:
- Cloud & Hosting: Microsoft Azure
- Containers & Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes (AKS)
- Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Crossplane, Jsonnet
- CI/CD & GitOps: GitHub Actions (self-hosted), ArgoCD, GitOps
- Programming Languages & Scripting: Go, Python, Bash
- Observability: Loki, Grafana, Tempo, Mimir (LGTM stack), Pyroscope
- Security & Access: Teleport, ZScaler, Azure WAF, Mnemonic
- Data & Messaging: PostgreSQL, Kafka
- Developer Platform: Backstage, Service Catalogs, Developer Tooling
🤝 What we're looking for
We’re looking for a hands-on engineer who’s curious, collaborative, and motivated by building systems that matter. You move fast, take initiative, and focus on impact over polish—delivering solutions that are solid, reliable, and good enough to grow with.
🧠 Must-Haves
- Initiative and adaptability – You’re eager to learn, unafraid of unfamiliar problems, and comfortable stepping outside your comfort zone.
- Strong communication skills – You write clearly, explain your thinking, and collaborate effectively across teams.
- A service-oriented mindset – You enjoy making things better for your teammates and building tools that help others succeed.
🌟 Nice-to-Haves
- Some hands-on experience with infrastructure in production – You’ve written code that runs in the real world, not just in labs or tutorials.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, GitOps, or developer tooling – You’ve contributed to systems that help developers ship faster and safer.
- Experience in regulated environments – Healthcare, finance, or other industries with constraints you’ve had to navigate.
- Time in a fast-moving environment – Whether a startup, side project, or high-growth team, you’ve had to figure things out quickly and independently.
💬 Personal Attributes
- Collaborative & Clear Communicator – Works well across teams, builds trust, and brings others along.
- Honest & Direct – You say what you mean and value transparency.
- Supportive & Service-Minded – You help others level up and keep things moving.
- Good Sense of Humor – You bring a human touch, even in complex systems.
🔍 You’re likely motivated by…
- Tackling hard problems that require creativity and good technical judgment.
- Reducing complexity by building simple, maintainable solutions.
- Driving operational excellence—building secure, reliable infrastructure others can trust.
- Sharing knowledge and creating leverage across teams through tools, documentation, and mentorship.

✅ What success looks like
We believe clarity helps everyone thrive. Here’s what success could look like in this role:
In 3 months:
- You’ve built context around our systems, tools, and workflows, and started to contribute to real infrastructure work.
- You’ve completed your first projects—maybe helping improve a CI/CD pipeline, updating monitoring config, or shipping a change through Terraform.
- You’ve built trust with your teammates and are actively participating in team rituals, asking good questions, and sharing what you learn.
In 6 months:
- You’re independently owning small to medium-sized infrastructure tasks from planning to delivery.
- You’re improving developer experience or platform reliability in a tangible way—whether through tooling, automation, or documentation.
- You’re helping others by sharing knowledge, proposing improvements, and building confidence in your judgment.
In 12 months:
- You’re seen as a dependable contributor to the platform—trusted to take ownership of areas of our infrastructure and drive improvements.
- You’ve made meaningful contributions that improve speed, reliability, or ease-of-use for product teams.
- You’re actively growing your influence—mentoring newer engineers, refining processes, or contributing to longer-term architectural thinking.
💙 Why you’ll love working here

You’ll be trusted to make decisions, take initiative, and shape your own path. There’s little bureaucracy, and we hire people we trust to figure things out.
